REVOLUCION(ES) is an exhibition of work from the political revolutions across North Africa opening on Thursday April 28th at Instituto Cervantes in New York City, NY. This show is part of the ongoing program Amster Yard Project and it will be on view until May 7. Photographs filed from the front lines by Samuel Aranda, Michael Christopher Brown, Bryan Denton, Mathias Depardon, Guy Martin, Gabriele Micalizzi, Andy Rocchelli, Luca Santese, Gabriele Stabile, Nicole Tung and Ricardo Garcia Vilanova.  Curated by Julien Jourdes (Fovea Gallery) and Matthew Craig (MJR). IMMIGRANTS IN LAMPEDUSA

Over a few weeks in the first months of the year, the island of Lampedusa saw its biggest arrival of undocumented immigrants from nearby North Africa.
Thousands of young Tunisian men and a handful of women, packed into fishing boats with as many as 200 aboard, made the perilous journey across 70 miles of open ocean to the southernmost Italian outpost. Carrying dreams of jobs in Europe and not much else, they arrived on a rocky island of secret coves and crystal waters. 
The overwhelmed Italian authorities quickly reopened a transit center, packing migrants into prefabricated dorm rooms in a facility built for 850. Over 20,000 Tunisians have landed in Lampedusa since mid January, folllowing revolts that led to the overthrow of Ben Ali, and the situation in Libya will only accelerate this trend.(...)

THE VIEW FROM LUCANIA - Cesuralab Workshop

Cesuralab will conduct an intensive week-long laboratory dedicated to self publishing on June, 23/29th as part of the The View From Lucania workshops program. Participants will have the opportunity to create their own unique editorial project, dealing with all aspects of publication, from concept development to shooting to selection to actual production. The view from Lucania is a photographic project developing its cultural offer from the privileged surroundings of Lucania. Aim of the project is to produce culture and support territorial development through the implementation of audiovisual concepts, overseen by internationally recognised photographers and professionals.
