Comete is a series that focuses on teenagers and young women. I have been photographing young girls for years but after Covid I decided to focus on Italy, especially in the suburban areas, continuing this ongoing project to get a complete view of what it means to be a young woman these days. I usually find these girls on the street, interview them by writing long notes about their desires, their need to escape or not escape from the cities they grew up in, ask them if they are happy, and then portray them. The interesting thing for me is to see how generations change in their relationships with society, but also how much where we grew up really changes the perspectives we have on our lives and the future. This journey for me is a kind of survey of the new generation of girls living their youth in a very complicated world, to see if and where they find the strength and tools to realize their dreams.
