“Dirty boots, how to report” Masterclass with Gabriele Micalizzi and Jérôme Sessini

Two visions. One immersive workshop.
This masterclass brings together the professional reality of photojournalism and the deeper meaning behind images.
With Gabriele Micalizzi, dive into the craft of reportage: project research, field safety, working with fixers, accreditation, gear choices, and how to pitch strong stories to editorial desks without losing your authorial voice.

With Jérôme Sessini, the focus turns to the participants’ work through portfolio reviews, a shooting day, and hands-on editing sessions. Intention, distance, and narrative are central because meaning matters as much as the images themselves.
No fixed answers just the right questions to help you build a personal, conscious, and recognizable photographic process.
Talks and discussions complete the experience, drawing from real-world field practice.

CESURA offers a free scholarship for the masterclass to the most deserving photographer based on a portfolio of 20 images and a motivational letter of no more than one page to be sent to education@cesura.it by February the 1st. The winner will be announced on February the 9th.
